Blackheads occur when the pores are clogged with sebum and dead skin cells. The upper part of the pores remains open even though other parts are clogged. Since this sticky tissue accumulated in the pores is exposed, it oxidizes and turns dark, causing these pimples to appear on the skin surface. Blackheads, which are a mild type of acne, can be seen alone without other acne symptoms.
