In today’s article, we will investigate whether steroid medication can cause infertility.
Let’s first examine the steroid. What is a steroid? Steroids are part of the body’s defense immunity against certain infections or viruses and act throughout recovery. There are different steroids, but we will examine blood sugar in anabolic steroids used by athletes. They are colloquially known as “roids” or “juice”. There are two different drug intakes, orally and by injection.
So, do steroids cause infertility? In studies conducted by experts, it has been determined that men who use steroids cause infertility at a rate of almost 90%. To share a quote about it; “Speaking to the BBC, Mossman said that steroid use can make men more “attractive” but will turn them into “evolutionarily useless people.”
Mossman continued his words as follows:
“We saw an increase in men who came to us for infertility tests, and these guys were huge. They tried to look bulky but rendered themselves evolutionarily useless because, without exception, none of them had sperm.”(1)
From these explanations, we see that using steroids causes infertility problems in men. Therefore, we recommend you consult your doctor before using steroids.
